“The Ministry has sent a letter to Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary JSC, as the developer of a unified platform for subsurface users Minerals.gov.kz , about opening access to the register of issued licenses for subsurface use to all interested users. In the near future, access to this registry will be open to all users without registering on the platform. We also inform you that the current register of existing subsurface use contracts and the register of issued licenses for exploration and extraction of solid minerals has been published on the ministry’s website,” the ministry said in a statement.
In August, inbusiness.kz reported that, according to the deputy head of the Department of Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Industry, Nurgul Ospanova, the register of issued exploration and production licenses, as well as the list of existing subsoil use contracts for solid minerals, are actively updated on the website. minerals.gov.kz in the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) section. At that time, only officials and accredited subsurface users had access to the single platform, so media representatives could not get up-to-date information there about which licenses for exploration or extraction of metals had been issued, as well as who were their beneficiaries. According to Ospanova, then minerals.gov.kz migrated from the developer’s base “Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary” (KGS) to the e-kazyna platform of the Information and Accounting Center (IUC) under the Ministry of Finance, so access to updates to the registry of issued licenses was planned to be opened after the completion of the “relocation” of data.
Previously, registers of issued licenses for exploration and production of TPI, as well as existing contracts for subsurface use of metals, were regularly updated on the website of the Ministry of Industry.
