Solidcore has become the growth driver of trading on AIX. During the year, trading in the company’s shares increased 22 times.

In the first nine months of 2024, the trading volume on the stock exchange of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) AIX has made a record $922 million in recent years. This is 4 times higher than the figure of $220 million for the same period in 2023. The most traded securities on the site remain shares of Solidcore Resources (formerly Polymetal), the press service of the exchange reported at the request of Kursiv. 

The trading volume of Solidcore shares for the first nine months of this year amounted to $370 million against $17 million a year earlier. Thus, the indicator has grown 21.7 times over the year, according to the AIX response.

In general, since the launch of AIX, the trading turnover on the exchange has amounted to more than $2 billion. Moreover, 46% of this total volume falls precisely in 2024. Today, more than 1.8 million Kazakhstanis have investment accounts in the AIX CSD depository. As of October 8, 224 securities were listed on the exchange, as of September 30 – 219 securities, and by the end of 2023 – 150.

For the first time, Solidcore (then Polymetal) announced its intention to move from the British island of Jersey to the AIFC in the fall of 2022. In August 2023, it completed redomicilation (re-registration from one jurisdiction to another). Since August 10, 2023, Solidcore shares have been traded on the AIFC – AIX exchange. Last October, Solidcore was included in the AIX Qazaq Index.

At the end of September 2023, the head of the company Vitaly Nesis announced plans to sell Russian assets due to the imposition of sanctions against the Russian subsidiary Polymetal. The deal was closed in March 2023, the buyer was the structure of a Russian businessman. Sergey Yanchukov “Mangazeya Plus”. The asset was valued at $3.69 billion.
