Six criminal groups involved in the commission of serious crimes have been detained in the Karaganda region this year. More than 40 facts of extortion have been identified and suppressed, inbusiness reports.kz with a link to Polisia.kz .
On October 15, the Department for Combating Organized Crime in Shakhtinsk detained a youth group engaged in extortion from local residents, including employees of Qarmet JSC. The group included one of the mixed martial arts trainers.
Earlier, in the cities of Temirtau, Sarani, and Abai, members of other criminal groups involved in serious crimes, as well as theft of inventory from Qarmet facilities and extortion from employees of the enterprise were detained.
“In total, according to these facts, more than 100 defendants were brought to the internal affairs bodies, 39 of whom were arrested. About 150 search operations were conducted. Weapons and ammunition were seized, as well as other material evidence of their illegal activities. Three criminal cases on 16 episodes of serious crimes have already been sent to court. As a result of the suppression of the activities of criminal groups in the region, over 30 firearms and traumatic weapons were seized, including 15 rifles, eight sawn-off shotguns, four pistols, two rifles, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, as well as more than a thousand rounds of ammunition. Work to ensure law and order in the regions continues,” Kuandyk Alpys, a representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry, said.
In July, it was reported that a criminal group had been arrested for stealing fuel and lubricants from Qarmet JSC. It was established that the theft occurred for a long time, according to the information of the injured party, the company suffered damage in the amount of over 50 million tenge.
